This September, the CERN Accelerator School (CAS) teachers and students finally flew to Lithuania to attend the CAS Introduction to Accelerator Physics surrounded by the gentle rivers of Kaunas, European capital of culture 2022 and home of the Kaunas Technical University (KTU). More than 70 physicists, engineers and technicians gathered in the Victoria Hotel to learn the basics of accelerators physics and technology and start creating a strong professional network from which they will benefit for their whole career.
Thanks to the collaboration with KTU, this year we could also welcome 10 local students and professors among our regular participants, together with some grant students from different countries who received a financial support to join the school and profit from the lectures of our expert teachers.
"I passionately express my sincere gratitude to CERN Accelerator School for such wonderful opportunity that has been offered to me […] I am really excited that I can follow my aim, thanks to the CAS Funding Grant "
Fatemeh, one of the grant students that were selected among several candidates from all around the world.
From the charming flatlands of Lithuania, we’ll then move to the stunning peaks around Lake Annecy for the CAS on Advanced Accelerator Physics, in Sévrier (FR), where our specialised students will attend core lectures on accelerator physics and several practical courses with hands-on tuition from 6th to 18th November 2022.
